How to measure your awning
To measure your RV awning, you can use a tape measure to measure the distance from the center of one awning arm to the center of the other arm:
- Place the tape measure's middle on the center of the front arm
- Walk the tape measure back to the center of the rear arm
- Round up to the nearest whole foot

The measurement you get is the size of your awning, and you can use it to order replacement fabric. The fabric will usually be 9–12 inches shorter than the awning measurement. It's important to measure the distance between the arms, rather than measuring the fabric itself, because the fabric size is determined by the distance between the arms. Measuring the fabric can lead to a replacement canopy that doesn't fit the awning's hardware.
